SARS CoV-2 or CoViD-19
This pandemic affects everyone around the world, and our members are working hard on ICU and in the ED, in ambulatories and offices, in the prehospital setting on ambulances and helicopters to try and manage this disease.
Some are happy to share infos from their hospitals, flowcharts and publications. We are collecting these on www.alptrauma.de and are happy for you to use this info.

Update 13.04.2020

COVID-19 Lung Injury is Not High Altitude Pulmonary Edema
A publication by Andrew M Luks et al
High Altitude Medicine and Biology

Dr Luks and colleagues clarify in this statement why there is a big distinction between HAPE and COVID-19 mediated lung injury and that one must not make a mistake in confusing these very different pathologies.

COVID-19 mediated lung injury has proven to be a heterogeneous disease in which patients present with varying degrees of hypoxemia, alterations in lung compliance and other physiologic derangements. In this challenging time, we must identify the best means to care for these critically ill patients. That approach should be grounded in sound pulmonary physiology, clinical experience and, when available, evidence from clinical studies. We must avoid propagation of erroneous theories and treatments with potentially deleterious consequences for patient care
